So, which carrier, or carriers, will step forward to marshal the communicator concept to maturity and massive profitability?
Apple has gotten it right, but it still requires the cooperation of carrier networks to fully realize it.
Palm took a few tentative steps in the right direction, then lost focus and initiative and ultimately burned bridges a few years ago.
RIM almost had it right, but lost the edge— and the nerve— to capitalize on it 10 years ago.
Symbion was onto something… just 15 years too early.
So, as VZ preps for their iPhone-CDMA rollout, the communicator concept further crystallizes.
